A banker, cooperative member, author, publisher, and passionate futurist. After training at a Bavarian cooperative bank, he joined Volksbank Mittweida in Saxony as a young manager in 1991. There, he was a member of the Board of Management in 1997, and became the Chairman of the Board in 2009. He is passionately committed to the decentralized development of the regions, is involved in a large number of committees to this end, and is politically active both regionally and nationally. In 2021, he was awarded professorship in digital transformation and regional innovation at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.
